The King said: My son let us look and see if you are correct. Who had the authority over Israel? Answer, the priests. Who had the authority to make laws in Israel? Answer, the priests. Look in my Bible, in the book of Hebrews where it says,
If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not called after the order of Aaron? (Heb. 7:11)
I said: O’ King, I looked up the Greek word “homothetic,” Strong’s #3549, which you translated “received” in the verse above. The following is its definition.
1. To establish law
2. To enact laws
3. To sanction by law
4. To legislated for law
5. To furnished with law
O’ King, would it be safe to say that the Levitical Priesthood was the ruling authority over all Israel, even over the kings of Israel?
The King said: Yes my son, you have said correctly, the Levitical Priesthood was the “Law” that was done away with. Now read Hebrews 7:12 and look up the word “changed” in the concordance, and let me know what it says.
“For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.” (Hebrews 7:12)
I said: O’ King, the Greek word “metatithemi” was translated changed, and it means, “To transpose (two things, one of which is put in place of the other).”
Does the word changed mean God “transposed” the Heavenly Priesthood of Christ in place of the Earthly Priesthood of Levy?
