Rule number 1: “The ordinary Bible read in our Church (The Church of England), commonly called the Bishops Bible, to be followed, and as little altered as the truth of the original will permit.”

Rule number 3: “The Old Ecclesiastical Words to be kept, viz. the Word Church not to be translated Congregation & c.”

Rule number 4: “When a word has different Significations, that to be kept which has been most commonly used by the most Ancient Fathers, being agreeable to the Propriety (socially correctness) of the place, and the Analogy of the faith.”

I said: With all due respect O’ King, I have read those fifteen rules, and it appears to me that you tied the hands of your translators so that they could not translate the truth if they wanted. John said in I John 2:15 “If any man loves the “world” (religious system), the love of the Father is not in him.” O’ King, I believe you loved your church doctrine more than you did the truth.

O’ King, Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the word “worldStrong’s # 2889 kosmos translates as “world” 186 times, and “adorning” once. 1 an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government." in your translation means a “religious system” and for the most part, refers to the Levitical Priesthood system, is that correct.

The King said: My son, you are right on both accounts, but we will discuss those things in more detail at a latter time.

Right now, I feel I need to explain my main reason for a new Bible. My goal was to put an end to all unauthorized translations. Since the invention of the printing press in 1440, there were hundreds of English translations in circulation, and no two of them read the same in their entirety. They were disrupting the peace and causing rebellion among the lower classes. There was no uniformity in the Churches. People were defecting from our State Church, the Church of England, and starting other denominations.

One of our resolutions for our new translation is it would only be permitted to be read in the official Churches of England and only in time of divine service. Most people have forgotten the meaning of an “authorized” version. It simply meant that all other versions were unauthorized. We never believed the Bible was every meant to be in the hands of the ignorant and unlearned. Nonetheless, that printing press was putting the Bible in the hands of the peasants.

I said: Forgive me for interrupting my King, but didn’t Christ pick his twelve disciples from among the “ignorant and unlearned?”
